That would explain how the first version of his piece on John Boehner today said that a lobbyist had “won the lawmaker’s backing” on a series of issues (which were all predictable Boehner positions) but now reads “sought the lawmaker’s backing.”
The verb was changed after pushback from Boehner’s office.
