In What Thesaurus Are the Words ‘Won’ and ‘Sought’ Synonyms?

Perhaps in the one on New York Times reporter Eric Lipton’s desk? That would explain how the first version of his piece on John Boehner today said that a lobbyist had “won the lawmaker’s backing” on a series of issues (which were all predictable Boehner positions) but now reads “sought the lawmaker’s backing.”

The verb was changed after pushback from Boehner’s office.
