More on Murky

It sounds like it’s too late to convince Murkowski not to run, although apparently even as late as this morning she wasn’t going to do it. The point of making it clear that she will be stripped of all her seniority, lose appropriations, etc. would be to undermine the central argument of her campaign, since that’s all she ran on. This e-mailer goes further and says she’s shouldn’t be allowed to caucus with the Republicans, which might be a way to force her to say she’d caucus with Democrats (and limit her appeal to Republican voters even more):

The senate leadership needs to tell her she will get nothing from them if she does this even if she wins — no chairmanships not even of the most useless subcommittee. They need to tell her regardless of whether it costs them control, she will not be permitted to caucus with the Republicans.

This is outrageous. The Murkowski name should be struck from every temple, monument and obelisk in Alaska.

UPDATE

And this, of course, is where to give to Miller.
