A few basic rules for journalists are: 1) don’t report things that are false; 2) check with the target of your story before publishing; 3) if you have to revise and correct your story, let your readers know. Jon Ward of the Daily Caller is 0-3. He’s been steadily changing his story from Friday, back-filling and correcting as he goes, although without letting his readers know specifically what he’s doing. Give him a few more days and maybe he’ll efface his erroneous original reporting altogether.
