Just as there is no Ballygran in Ireland, there is no “Shannon” on the Corner. (For reasons known only to her, my mother thought if you changed the spelling of the name, it would somehow seem masculine. Years of mail mistakenly addressing her son as Ms. Shannon Coffin have disabused her of that notion).
On a more serious note, if you’re going to start challenging all of the geography and Irish history I learned in song while slightly sauced in an Irish pub during my college days, I am going to have to go back to school.
Turns out things aren’t that great in Glocca Morra either.
