‘al-Qaeda no longer a threat to the United States’

That’s Representative Betty McCollum during a debate last night. And that would be news to Homeland Security officials.

I keep finding myself in Minnesota, cyberly speaking. But while I’m here again: Can the 4th Congressional District there please elect Teresa Collett

Stopping voter fraud would be a big help to getting Collett elected.

I live a couple blocks from Macalester College. On election day, school buses filled with college students arrive at the polls, all to same-day-register and same-day-vote. The procedure for registration? One registered voter verbally vouches that they know all of the folks in the busload to be residents. That's it!

The only hope this year is bad weather and a bad mood will tone down the turnout in the bluest precincts, while the suburbs of St. Paul have massive turnout.

But given the polls say we're going to elect Dayton, don't count on it.
