Yesterday, The View’s Joy Behar said “She’s [Sharron Angle] going to hell, this bitch!” Behar also compared Angle’s latest ad to a “Hitler Youth” commercial.
So today, Angle sent Behar flowers, with a note thanking Behar for helping her raise $150,000 online yesterday.
So what was Behar’s gracious response? “I’d like to point out that those flowers were picked by illegal immigrants,” she tartly said. “And they’re not voting for you, bitch.”
(One would hope they’re not voting at all, actually.)
And when Barbara Walters told Behar she shouldn’t be saying that anyone was going to be in Hell, Behar responded with another logical tour de force, “I don’t believe in Hell. And I don’t believe she’s going there.”
“She [Angle] could have taken that $500 [Behar’s guess for the cost of the flowers] and maybe had some sensitivity training with it. … Don’t send me flowers, Sharron. Put your money where your mouth is,” Behar said.
Who wants to bet that Harry Reid campaign staffers are already calling up Behar and begging her to stop being Angle’s best fundraiser?
"Put your money where your mouth is.."
What does that even mean? Joy Behar is sort of turning into the Ann Coulter of the left.
I thought it impossible to make Sharron Angle sympathetic, but Joy Behar has proved me wrong.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI have two thoughts. First, Behar quipped that "those flowers were picked by illegal immigrants". That's not likely. In 2008, imports accounted for over two-thirds of all cut-flowers sold in the US. It's VERY likely, all or most of those flowers were actually imported, and not grown in the US, let alone "picked by illegals".
Second, I wonder what the political landscape would look like of we actually had broadcast networks that made earnest attempts to produce politically fair programs. In virtually every episode of "The View", we have one pseudo-conservative in Elizabeth versus the grand doyenne of liberal journalism and three professional comediennes (who enjoy the services of two on-staff joke writers). And yet, this is supposed to pass for "The View" - presumably the "view" of American women. It' clearly is "a view" - the orthodox view of the Manhattan liberal establishment. But, it's certainly nothing more than that.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseJoy Behar doesn't have 1/1000th the wit that Ann Coulter possesses.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseThe only thing Joy Behar has accomplished here is to show what a cretinous human being she is. But then, it's an old trick that she accomplishes every single time flaps her jaws.
But I nearly gagged when Behar whipped out from her bra the note that Sharon Angle sent with the flowers (she returned it to its dark hiding place after reading the contents aloud).
Maybe she's planning to auction off the card to raise money for Dingy Harry's campaign. I mean, it does seem like the sort of thing a Harry Reid "supporter" would value.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbusePoint and match to Angle. That floral retort was pure magic.
Reply to this commentLinkReport Abuse$500 for flowers? How silly. Angle no doubt orders flowers from proflowers.com and uses the "rush" or "levin" discount code!
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseBehar-types are their own worst enemies because they live in a liberal bubble that prevents them from relating to people outside that bubble. They assume everyone thinks and behaves the way they do and, therefore, never consider that their behavior is offensive to just about everyone. Joy Behar should have realized that she lost the fight when she received the thank you note and flowers, ended it graciously and moved on. She didn't do that and Angle wins Round 2 with only six days left.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseGame, Set & Match, Angle.
Well played, Madam Senator-Elect.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseYeah, Joy, illegals won't vote for Angle. they won't vote for Reid, either. Did you think they could?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseOccasionally SNL will spoof The View, and Fred Armisen does a pretty good Joy Behar. Will they take this up on Saturday? One can only hope. "Who cares?"
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI just can't get over why anyone would even care what Behar would say.
Let's move along, people. There are far more engaging things worth noting and fighting for than what silliness comes out of this bimbo's gaping maw.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseWe will be seeing more of this kind of anger from Liberals as on Tuesday, their dream of a Socialist Utopia in America will be at least delayed if not destroyed.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseAngle's supporters just put their money where their mouths are to the tune of 150K.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseBrilliant move by Angle. Got another day of exposure out of this. She should send flowers EVERY day until the election and if she wins, she should REALLY send some flowers or a singing gorilla or something. Joy be furious.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI hadn't planned on making another donation to Angle, but Joy Behar forced my hand.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseThe only person as dumb as Behar is Harry Reid. Nice going Joy, keep it up.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI think it's rather Joy-less who is in serious need of sensitivity training.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseJoy Behar is a despicable harridan who needs to be driven off the public stage. Barbara Walters has lost whatever class she might have had presiding over this gaggle of witches.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseAfter reading many (though not all) of the comments posted in this article, perhaps NRO ought to consider removing the ability for readers to post replies. I am as conservative as anyone who reads The Corner, but why can't we have a civil, polite conversation about the other side? This is the fundamental problem with American society, and American politics as an especially virulent microcosm thereof - we have simply lost the ability to be at once ideological and able to engage in respectful debate, with due deference to logic from alternative points of view. That goes for both sides.
