Sounds right to me, Jonah. In my book I don’t get into “philosophical pragmatism” at all, thank goodness. Instead I skewer Obama’s alleged (ordinary everyday) pragmatism as a well-worn Alinskyite cover-strategy for leftism. It’s just that the imminent publication of the Kloppenberg book has raised the issue of “philosophical pragmatism.” In the end, there’s no real difference between the trick of using either ordinary or “philosophical” pragmatism as a cover for leftist ideology. But I do think Mirengoff and Berkowitz are helpful in pointing that out.
The one and only.
