More on State-Legislature Shifts -- GOP Wins Trifectas

You’ll find charts, graphs, and analysis galore over at Ballotpedia, where Geoff Pallay reports that “Republican trifecta gains” — pickups of governorship, state house, and state senate — now create a “recipe for powerful impact on redistricting.”

The GOP’s hold on state-government trifectas has increased from eight to 20, while the Democratic party’s hold on state-government trifectas has declined from 16 to nine. Three states remain in play as of mid-afternoon on November 3. In these states, the Democratic party could pick up an additional two trifectas, giving it a total of eleven, while the Republican party could pick up one more, giving it a total of 21.
