Jonah: The most disturbing thing about the DMZ metaphor isn’t that the real DMZ is a place where a false step will result in your foot blown off, but that the real DMZ separates two countries that are hardly moral equivalents. There are labels in Korea: “North” and “South.” They aren’t just about geography. They mean a lot more.

Also, this group provides an excellent occasion for mentioning O’Sullivan’s First Law: “All organizations that are not actually right-wing will over time become left-wing.”
