THANK YOU, SENATE REPUBLICANS!!!

Finally, finally, FINALLY...you see what resolve and principled opposition can accomplish. Now send these lame ducks home, have a Merry Christmas, and come back in 2011 to bring some change that the VOTERS have asked for!

This is precisely why we must always have an active and engaged populace. When engaged, it can make a real difference.

Interesting that it took the farthest left since the New Deal agenda of Obama, promising fundamental transformation, to spawn the tea party and a much larger conservative engagement that then shaped the political climate for this to occur.

Thank you senate Republicans. It's times like these that you need to remember that having a few RINO's in blue states is helpful. As much as they infuriate us at times, this wouldn't have been stopped without them.

I'd like to thank all republicans, including the more liberal ones for seeing the light and ending this fiasco. Like the other writer said, end the lame duck nonsense, send everyone home !

>"the first time since I’ve been here, we stood up and said ‘enough.’”

Since it was obvious this is where the democrats have been heading for a long time, why wasn't this done long ago? Why haven't we seen this unity on the other bills? And why wasn't McCain's first choice for a vp, "independent" with a "conservative" bent, Joe Leiberman, helping out?

So many questions.

Let the celebrations cease at once. Let us have answers forthwith.

Joe Lieberman?

Ouch! Hair's on fire.

"...for the first time since I’ve been here, we stood up and said ‘enough.’”

Only a month and a half after the rest of the country.

"...for the first time since I’ve been here, we stood up and said ‘enough.’ "

And he's a RINO. Think of how many other reasons there have been for the reps to grow a spine in his past 23 years as Senator and four as Representative...

Good news, but honestly, I am reminded of Churchill's quote regarding Dunkirk. “Wars are not won by evacuations!"

It may be late but it is welcome.
