Obama Considering Daley for Chief of Staff?

No, not outgoing Chicago mayor Richard Daley — but his kid brother William, a JPMorgan Chase executive and former Clinton Commerce secretary. More here.

It's just like a Republican to name a greedy banker and member of the super secretive and scary Wall Street to a high position in his presidential office.

Oh, it's Obama doing this? Move along then.

So now before they can get a bipartisan agreement out of the president, the Republicans will have to buy a policy from Near North Insurance.

You mean Bill Daley of the Hanging Chad fame, the night of the presidential election in 2000?

I wonder, given that pedigree, if he isn't being considered for CoS, but for Larry Summers' job.

Reuters had the following to say about Daley:

"Critics have accused the administration of being too insular. If Daley ends up moving into a White House job, that would ease some of that criticism."

Is Reuters INSANE???!!! Firstly, almost nobody is talking about the fact that Daley is not merely loosely connected to the most powerfully corrupt dynasty in Chicago political history, but is LITERALLY apart of it! In addition, nobody (other then David Frum) is talking about the very obvious:

Rahm leaves to place a Daley... a Daley comes to replace Rahm! Doesn't that seem a little odd to anybody???

What really bothers me, however, is that the MSM is starting to portray Daley as some sort of outsider! AN OUTSIDER???!!! The man was the co-chairman of Obamas transition team in 2008, and also served as his economic advisor throughout the 08 campaign. Outsider????????

The spin from the press is just a cruel mix of disgusting and disheartening.

I had a snarky comment about Obama and bankers, but Indy's comment has left me speechless. I hadn't put the Rahm-Daley swap together at all...

Augh.
