Incoming Speaker Priorities
John Boehner didn’t have time for the New York Times yesterday. From the New York Times:
“Cutting the cost of Congress is part of bringing to the people’s House the humility and modesty our constituents are expecting from us,” said a statement issued by the office of Mr. Boehner, who has studiously tried to avoid gloating in the wake of the Republican gain of 63 seats in November. He was not available for comment Tuesday.
Who does he have time for? On the first day back in town after the elections, before Christmas, he had a meeting — of his own initiative — with Virginia Walden Ford (D.C. Parents for School Choice) and families in D.C. who have benefited from the life-changing school-voucher program that this White House and the last Congress killed (but the new Speaker supports).
