My two cents: She starts off a little shaky but really comes into her own here. Palin in gravitas mode like we’ve never seen her. Of course, it’s a video that should not have had to be made.
Sarah Palin: “America’s Enduring Strength” from Sarah Palin on Vimeo.
I don't know how she does it, honest to God. God bless her.
This was an awesome speech, by the way. But really, it won't matter to the MSM. She cannot do anything right in their eyes. They've got a narrative and their going to stick to it no matter what.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseLet's not spend too much time today talking about Sarah Palin. Her speech is fine, but this has never been about her, and it would be inappropriate to use this occasion to promote her political acumen. This remains about the innocent people shot and killed by the deranged crazy man several days ago, and the vile attempt by the left to use the shootings for their own political gain.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseFor all her faults, she still is the only Republican with the guts to say what needs to be said and she will have my vote if she runs.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseIn other words, PatHMV, "it's a video that should not have had to be made."

The Left made this event about Palin, and it is completely proper to focus on how she responded to the attacks. Dont be a blowhard.
Reply to this commentLinkReport Abuse"Her speech is fine, but this has never been about her, and it would be inappropriate to use this occasion to promote her political acumen. "
This incident has ONLY been about her, if you listen to/read the majority of pundits/columnists.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI suppose we'll have to read Paul Krugman to find out what horrible thing she did in this speech.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbusePalin's actions throughout this entire incident have displayed the polish of a professional crisis manager. Whether this was orchestrated by a consultant, her staff, or Palin herself hardly matters. I think it is indicative of the performance you can expect from her in any job.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI agree the video should not have had to be made, but it did, and she responded appropriately. This required something greater than a Twitter/Facebook response.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI would disagree with PatHMV. The shooting itself and its tragety is not in anyway about Palin. But the subsequent debate caused by the Left's reaction is definitely about her partially, along with Beck, Limbaugh, even the American people in general.
And to echo RNCCritic, imagine if the POTUS had displayed such resolve and leadership in reaction to the Oil Spill (among other things).
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI think the strongest statement I've heard of the power of Sarah Palin was "She reminds men of why they care about politics in the first place" (or words to that effect). She did so again here.
Reply to this commentLinkReport Abuse"Blood Libel" is the new "Death Panel" and MSM is going to go crazy trying to disprove the truth in those words. You have to admire the woman.
Reply to this commentLinkReport Abuse"Her speech is fine, but this has never been about her"
There was a time when this wasn't about her. It lasted from the time the news came out to about 30 seconds later, when the first liberals hit twitter to blame Sarah Palin for the attack.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI like the use of the term "blood libel." It will have the liberals and their media handmaidens fuming and it tosses the ball firmly back into their court (I hope that's not too violent an image for our modern political discourse).
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseIt took Democrats about 4 seconds to shamelessly politicize the Tuscon tragedy.
Thank god that finally someone in the GOP has the guts to respond to these despicable charges.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbusePalin has more cojones than all the male republican politicos in Washington D.C. combined.
I love the way she is willing to fight back when poop is slung her way. There are many others on our side of the aisle that could learn a thing or two from this woman.
God Bless her.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseJim Clyburn is already on the airwaves claiming that Palin is too stupid to understand her own complicity in the Tucson shootings. It's odd that the left can't seem to grasp that their obsession with Palin is giving her the opportunity to turn herself from a failed Vice Presidential candidate and half-term Governor into a President in waiting. Progressives have invested a huge amount of political capital to convince people that Palin is a dumb bunny. The problem is that everyone with a firing synapse can see that the caricature has no basis in fact. Every time "that woman" opens her mouth she makes the entire progressive establishment look like so many fools. Poor Obama, he seems fated to suffer as Palin upstages him. He can't reconnect with the American people as he shares in our grief because somebody else got there first. This will prove to be a defining moment for Palin. Pawlenty et al might as well hang it up.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI know she probably felt she had to do this video response, but she spent way too much time decrying the "blood libel" aspect of it. Even using the term "blood libel", while perhaps justified on her part, was tone deaf and dumb. This was a tragedy first and foremost, not a political event. She should have focused more of her remarks on the victims and their families and the brave men and women who saved lives that day. This only adds more fuel to the raging fire about "proper" political speech.
Don't get me wrong, I like Sarah Palin, the person, but she still has yet to show the timber necessary to be President.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseYou folks decrying the use of the term "blood-libel" are nit-picking at best, disingenuous at worst.
Palin was not the first to use the term to describe the media response to this incident, but when you folks have nothing else to critique, I guess you need to latch on to whatever you can find from your media masters.
It's a term. Not a verb or noun. Just because it was used in a different context, does NOT lock the term into a single usage. To suggest otherwise, is stupid, politically correct, nonsense.
That goes for you too Jonah Goldberg. You DONT own it. Get over it.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI like Palin a great deal. I think she would be the first to tell all of us to do everything we can to return the focus from her to the actual victims of the psychopath, to remind everybody that innocent lives were taken by an evil man, and we should spend all of our energy right now on remembering those innocents and the heroes who saved many additional lives.
