“America’s standing has been restored.” Still sniping at George W.? This must be some kind of record for gracelessness.

If he means he's restored America's standing to levels not seen since the Carter administration, he's right.

Maybe that doesn't include bowing- I'm mean technically he's had both feet standing on the ground when he was doing it.

You are wrong! Wrong, wrong, wrong! Obama has elevated our image in the world by proving that we are NOT the planet's bully. Other countries are free to go after their agendas with or without our approval. The world is big enough for other powers. The world does not laugh at Obama like they did at that Texas rodeo clown.

I thought that could only be achieved by closing GITMO.

“America’s standing has been restored.”

Yeah, right, bowed to the jailer of this year's Nobel Laureate, endured a state dinner in which a communist pianist gave America his middle finger playing anti-American music in the White House.

America is not standing, America is bending over getting its butt kicked.

"Other countries are free to go after their agendas..."

Part of the "agendas" of some other countries is oppressing their own populace, conducting campaigns of genocide, waging militaristic power and land grabs against neighbors, and engaging in nuclear proliferation.

But, hey, at least we're not being a bully by telling them these things are bad any more!

I thought it was odd that right after President Obama said "America's standing has been restored", which I assumed meant he repaired damage done by President Bush, he praised the progress in Iraq. How can he insult Bush for starting the war then take credit for it's success in the next breath? I wondered if he was trying to (somewhat slyly) give President Bush some credit here, but it's hard to give President Obama that benefit of the doubt given his past statements.
