On This Week (I know, I know… ), Mohamed ElBaradei told Christiane Amanpour: “The Muslim Brotherhood is in no way extremist.” He went on to explain how having the Brotherhood in charge is no different than having a large group of Christians in a country, having Orthodox Jews in Israel …
Aren't they worried about them "clinging to their religion and guns"?
Reply to this commentLinkReport Abuseand there is no way Iran has a nuclear program.
ElBaradei is not an acceptable replacement for Mubarak.
Reply to this commentLinkReport Abusebtw I listen to This Week on my Ipod every week, it is worth it just to hear what George Will has to say. And Amanpour isn't that bad, I would rather watch her than David Gregory, although they should have given the job to Jake Tapper.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseThe Muslim Brotherhood is not extremist if you think having Egypt turned into an Islamic Calphaniate under Sharia law is not extremist.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseEl Baradei might very well be the best that we can hope for. However, that does not mean that we should not be alarmed. Not that we needed any more proof of El Baradei's true beliefs, but Mr. McCarthy's earlier post makes it quite clear where El Bardei's sympathies lie.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseThe Muslim Brotherhood is not the equivalent of the Knights of Columbus*.
*Beyond the inexpensive libations before the meetings...
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseIf anyone believes ElBaradei, I have a certain bridge in Brooklyn to sell them, cheap!
Reply to this commentLinkReport Abuse@Richard - You had me right up until the part where you said, "...Armanpour isn't that bad". Ugh. She's insufferable. I would rather listen to an hour of humpback whale calls, than listen to her. If Will ever leaves that program, it means there will be nothing of value on ABCNews, at all. Although, Tapper is reasonably fair, all things considered.
Christiane was almost giddy while speaking to her Egyptian idol, El Baradei. I wish they would have shown her face when he compared the terrorist organization known as the Muslim Brotherhood to American evangelicals. I bet she was beaming.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseIf there was a way I could italicize "that", I would have. She isn't great, but not as bad as people say she is.
It kinda reminds me of the new Indiana Jones movie, everyone was telling me how bad it was, then I saw it, and it wasn't the best movie I ever saw, but it wasn't as bad as advertised.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseTo clarify facts, Orthodox Jews are a small, albeit influential, minority in Israel. They do not control the government, although have considerable affect because of the fractured coalition politics.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI've observed enough of Amanpour to know she is disgusting and insufferable.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseWould Michelle M. call this Amanpour derangement syndrome?
