Precious MSNBC Moments

Chris Matthews on Sarah Palin tonight: “She’s likes Moammar Gaddafi. She doesn’t know the world around her.” (I’ve seen that transcribed as a question, too, but that’s how I hear it.)

Here’s video.

Guest David Corn made clear he wasn’t comfortable with the comparison.

Matthews later allowed that “I don’t think she’s as bad as him.”

Come on, folks, love her or hate her, wouldn't it be sorta worth it just to witness Matthews have to say, "President-elect Palin..."?

They'd have to keep him separated from sharp objects.

Mathews is a goober. That he still has a show is a testament to how pathetic MSNBC is, and also it's parent, NBC.

The only explanation for Matthews' continued lunacy on this subject is that he wants to have Andrew Sullivan's baby.

Oder66,
Almost as good as him saying that President Palin has won reelection in 2016

Chris Matthews is Sarah Palin described by Chris Matthews.

When will NBC realize that they are the laughing stock of the industry.

Matthews is a guy who uses over-the-top rhetoric to cover for the fact that he's just not as smart or talented as the other guys in the business. He compares Palin to Qaddafi because he thinks it sounds like the kind of remark that Limbaugh or O'Reilly might make.

Your incipient bias is painfully evident by the obvious misspelling of the Libyan leader's name... Qadaffi? Qaddaffi? Quadaphee?

...and the number of commenters here just matched tingle's regular viewing audience. most blogs have an "ignore the troll" rule. has anyone given serious thought to the concept that most of what Tip O'Neill's former coffee-fetcher says these days is geared to get a reaction from us as opposed to actually contributing to a rational dialog?
maybe we should all treat him as a troll...

David Corn may be a lefty but he is a good guy. He does divlogs with Jim Pinkerton over at Bloggingheads TV and they are always entertaining.

Kudos to Corn for showing some restraint when it would be extremely easy to laugh and chime in.

As for Matthews, he gets more pathetic by the day.

To think the former drunkard had the gall to write an editorial on political civility shortly after Tucson.

I loathe the whole liberal media apparatus, but I find Matthews the most despicable of all.

Matthews is after some of that Olbermann money.

CM asks the guest, "Do you think she's running?" The guest responds, "She's so self-centered I don't see how she could not be." It seems that in the eyes of the left the only requirement to run for President is to have an ego the size of Alaska. Who else does that make you think of?

Matthews is the guy who sat there with a straight face when Evan Thomas told him that Obama was "like a god."

I wasn't alive in the 1930s, so I've never seen anything like it.

I'm curious: do you think that this kind of thing is bad per se, or only bad when your political opponents do it?

Matthews has already jumped, and is trying to catch Olbermann on the way down.

Let's just watch and laugh.

Seriously? Not as smart as the "Trifecta of Ignorance" (Rush, Beck, and Hannity)? Between them, Rush, Beck and Hannity have exactly ZERO college degrees!! Matthews, however, graduated college and did graduate work at UNC.

Does anyone even watch or care about Chris Matthews?

AbeFroman: Thank God I wasn't drinking milk, it would have come out of my nose after reading your comment.
