Obama Defends Public Broadcasting

Text

Without addressing it directly, President Obama waded into the National Public Radio fracas at his afternoon press conference.

“I think it’s going to be important for us to have a conversation after we get the short-term budget done about how do we really tackle the [long-term debt] problem in a comprehensive way,” Obama said. “And that means not just going after Head Start or the Corporation for Public Broadcasting — that’s not where the money is.”

According to NPR, Obama is a fan of the radio organization’s programming.
