Unions Boycott Walker Donors

by Katrina Trinko

M & I Bank executives gave $46,000 to Scott Walker’s gubernatorial campaign. (They also gave $12,000 to Walker’s Democratic opponent, Tom Barrett.)

Union leaders have called for union employees to boycott M & I Bank. Yesterday, union employees took out up to $192,000 from a M & I Bank branch. The bank closed early, citing concerns about the growing crowd of protesters.

If this continues, look for the Wisconsin battle to stretch beyond the political turf. There isn’t much politically  the unions can do now besides get signatures on the recall petitions, but it looks like they’re going to try to financially hurt anyone who has different views on collective bargaining.
