UNSC Moves Closer to No-Fly Zone

by Daniel Foster

Matt Shaffer is covering the latest developments on Libya over at Egypt Watch, the most momentous of which are the reports that the United Nations Security Council could vote on a resolution authorizing the establishment of a Libya no-fly zone (and maybe more — including targeted airstrikes) as soon as 6PM EST.

VOA reports that the French are taking the lead on final negotiations, and Chuck Todd reports that U.S. officials are confident an “any means necessary” resolution will pass. Time, of course, is a factor, as pro-Qaddafi forces continue to put the squeeze on rebels in Benghazi.
