Obama may be putting while Rome burns, but you gotta hand it to him on his brackets: He got 29 of the 32 first-round games. I believe he picked Qaddafi Fembots to meet the Muslim Brotherhood in the championship game in Benghazi April 4th, so that’s looking good, too.
Mister Steyn,
During your recent appearance on The Hugh Hewitt Show, you compared John Boehner to Bob Dole, which I interpret to mean that Boehner is an establishment Republican who conforms to the rules of political engagement as defined by his Democratic opponents.
To reinforce that point, Obama is currently increasing the budget deficit by $34 billion a week, and Boehner is countering by reducing the deficit by $2 billion a week. Boehner and his lieutenants then become apoplectic with rage when conservative dissidents dare suggest that the mathematics of the status quo are untenable.
At the current rate of Obama deficit spending, by 2021 interest payments on the national debt will exceed federal tax revenues. In other words, America will have no money for national defense, Social Security, or anything else.
Yet like Dole, Boehner reserves his greatest contempt for those Republicans who refuse to join him in capitulating to liberals. Obama is piloting America towards certain financial ruin, and Boehner is his co-pilot.
p.s. Congrats on your brackets, Barack.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI believe Bill Ayers made Obama's bracket picks.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseGiven his jinx for picking other sports teams, maybe he called all of the coaches of the teams that were playing against his picks to wish them luck
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseYour mission, Mr. Steyn, should you choose to accept it, is to discover how much taxpayer money was spent on professional Vegas NCAA handicappers so that Mr. Obama might display expertise in something.
[First round is easiest to pick. See if Obama's misses came in the 8-9, 7-10 matchups which are typically evenly matched and tough to pick. If he scores as well the next round, then he's... well, then my joke about paying Vegas pros isn't a joke at all...]
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseFor God's sake, get the man a gig on ESPN so we can be done with him. Yes, it's a cliche, but it would be a win win for everyone if he were to finally have a job that is not beneath him.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseWhich brackets are you referring to? The NCAA tourney, or these?

Dave Burge is the best satirist on the net.
I believe that championship game in Benghazi started a few days early, and right now Field Marshall Quackdaffy's team is ahead of the Muslim Brotherhood on points.
What worries me the most is that this time the French and Italians are on 'our' side.
Where is that Desert Fox guy when we need him?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseAh, Mr. Steyn is back and in fine form! I bow to the Master of Sarcasm, word play and all things funny.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseThe bad news? He probably DID spend taxpayer money to get professional handicapping help on his picks.
The GOOD news for those of us who are morally opposed to gambling? The bargain included the creation of a new Federal union, the American Personhood of Bookies, Touts, Handicappers, and Pari-Mutual Professionals, an affiliate of AFSCME and SEIU, which will, of course, entirely undermine and ruin the gambling industry by and by.
And we thought he hated Vegas when he told corporations not to have meetings there! Harry Reid, call your office!
