Kinetic Military Action No More

Mark: I’m sorry to say you’re behind the curve. “Kinetic military action” is out and  “a time-limited, scope-limited military action” is in.

What was it Robert E. Lee said, “It is well that a time-limited, scope limited military action is so terrible, or we should grow too fond of it.”

When retrograde Libyan forces attack retrograde Rebels, it's called "slaughter". When American air power slaughters Libyan forces for the Rebels, it's called "protection".

The Pentagon should call a spade a spade. Slaughter is slaughter even from an antiseptic 10 miles off-shore or 10,000 feet.

West Point has since dropped plans to offer a degree in Martial Kinesiology. In related developments, "man-caused disaster" has been abandoned in favor of the more gender-neutral "human-caused disaster." Recent decisions by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, US Permanent Representative to the United Nations Susan Rice, and Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano have shown that women possess abilities to cause disasters on par with those of men.

Did the White House seriously believe they wouldn't be made fun of for such transparent, contorted obtuseness? Perhaps, this is what they meant by transparency...

This reminds me of that great Edwin Starr song from the late 60s "Time-limited, scope-limited military action (What is it good for?):

"Time-limited, scope-limited military action... Huh... Good God y'all!
What it is good for?
Absolutely nothing!
Say it again
(Time-limited, scope-limited military action... Huh!) Lord, Lord, Lord...
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing!
Listen to me:

(Time-limited, scope-limited military action) It ain't nothing but a heartbreaker
(Time-limited, scope-limited military action) Friend only to the undertaker
Time-limited, scope-limited military action is the enemy of all mankind
The thought of time-limited, scope-limited military action blows my mind
Time-limited, scope-limited military action has caused unrest within the younger generations
Induction then destruction
Who wants to die?"
