Kermit Gosnell’s Legacy of Death

It has now been over two months since abortionist Kermit Gosnell, the doctor who has been charged with the murders of at least two women and the brutal slaughter using scissors of at least seven children after they were born alive, was indicted — and the aftershocks of the horrendous investigation still continue.

Some of the victims’ families are now filing civil suits, and some states have been inspired to move to shut down or at least regulate abortion facilities. In Delaware, where Gosnell was also known to perform his gruesome practices, even Democrats have introduced such legislation. Shockingly, they insist that the primary purpose of their bill is to regulate podiatrists and dentists. There should be little doubt in people’s minds that more human beings are killed by abortionists than foot doctors!

Planned Parenthood in Delaware supports the legislation, which is a good indication they are on the ropes. While the legislation is part of Gosnell’s legacy, Kermit Gosnell himself is a legacy of Planned Parenthood, which fought against this type of legislation in Pennsylvania and other states. Had such legislation been enacted, Gosnell would have been behind bars years ago.

Despite this legacy of death, Planned Parenthood still manages to garner support in Congress among those who are willfully blind to the damage the abortion giant inflicts, instead believing the façade that the organization is a benign one, despite all the statistical and video evidence to the contrary. There is little doubt that if there were evidence that a FOX News affiliate had helped cover up statutory rape in a couple of states, or stated on tape that they would welcome racist donations and would turn a blind eye to underage sex trafficking, President Obama and elected Democrats wouldn’t hesitate a second to close them down.

Of course, there is no evidence that FOX behaves this way. In the case of Planned Parenthood, such evidence exists. Despite this widening scandal, many elected Democrats, joined by some hapless Republicans, still defend all that the abortion giant does.

The truth is that the evidence against Planned Parenthood is even more damning than it is against their gruesome legacy, Kermit Gosnell. The time to defund Planned Parenthood is now.

In this down economy, with an essentially bankrupt government, non-essential spending should go. That most certainly includes taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood.

I'm confused. Was Kermit Gosnell a Planned Parenthood doctor? The little I've read on the story seemed to imply that he was a physician with a private practice and not affiliated with PP. What Gosnell did is horrific, but I'm not sure how it's an indictment of PP.

In Delaware they've been too busy removing basketball poles (see Jonah's post) to deal with the baby murder thingy.

No person who believes that it is wrong to murder unborn children should have to support ANY organization with their tax dollars. It's time to put a stop to this genocide!

I am so grateful that this one particular doctor was caught and his practices made public, whether he worked for PP or not. I remember learning about partial birth abortion in the mid 1980s (it was legal in my state, and I was a medical transcriptionist for OB/GYN doctors at the time). It was amazing how many people simply refused to believe that any doctor would perform such a ghastly procedure, but I had proof, from the clinical dictation I transcribed, that they did - and some were doctors I knew well.

Actually, it's not surprising that abortion dehumanizes everyone connected with the practice - the doctor, the patient, and definitely the child.

What an absurd column. But, it's written by a member of the Family Research Council, so what do you expect? Gosnell was in PRIVATE practice, he was in no way affiliated with Planned Parenthood so this entire article is inaccurate.
Taxpayer money goes to all sorts of things that I don't support--2 wars, for example but that doesn't mean I get to shut down the U.S. military.

Planned Parenthood receives NO federal money for abortions. They money they receive from the taxpayers is for the medical care of both men and women. If you shut them down you are denying basic care to some of our poorest citizens.
