Flipping on Greta on FNC, I just saw the commercial the Susan B. Anthony List Education Fund and some other groups have gotten up on TV and radio in D.C.:
NRO readers heard from Abby Johnson, the former Planned Parenthood clinic director who stars in the commercial and is author of the new book Unplanned, in my interview with her here. It is worth reading if you have not had the chance to yet.
For a very long time, Planned Parenthood has been somewhat untouchable, despite its dark past. Johnson helps explain why by telling the story about how she saw the light.
Of course Abby Johnson's story isn't as cut and dry as she proclaims which a Google search easily discloses. Work issues, monetary problems and conflicting facts in her testimony illuminate how her conversion is more than just a "change of heart". Apparently she's found her new goal as anti-choice spokesperson and right-wing media darling more lucrative while her ex-employee (for eight years!) is an easy target for her disgruntlement.
Well...if my employer supported "choice" by killing unborn children, hopefully I would have a conversion at some point too. Whatever her initial reasons, good for Abby Johnson. Takes courage to go against the grain and do the right thing.
Of course hughman knows all about Abby Johnson -- he can see into her heart. He's not spouting the pro-abortion party line which unequivocally protects Planned Parenthood and their unscrupulous history of denying parental rights, protecting rapists/pedophiles/incestuous abusers, preying upon pregnant women under duress, etc etc
So Hughman, do you dispute the fact that planned parenthood pushes their clinics to kill more babies for more profit?
This isn't exactly the first time we've heard this about planned parenthood. Once again the left is attacking the messenger. Identify the target. Smear, vilify, and attack the target. Problem solved. I'm guessing hughman doesn't care at all about how many humans are killed at planned parenthood. All hughman knows is that PP is on his side, therefore an ally, and he will defend them no matter how poorly they behave.
This is how the left has become a coalition of deranged, soulless, unhappy, sell outs. You all have an issue that you care so much about, that you'll sell all of your values down the river to reach whatever objective it is that made you a liberal in the first place. Your alliance is composed of so many disparate factions, that holding it together requires you to compromise your values in extreme ways.
I think more people need to be made conscious of the fact that it's usually one or two issues that decides our political leanings. From there we tend to adopt the rest of our party's policy stances. I've tried to keep that at the front of my mind when any given new issue is presented to me. It's why I'm pro life, anti death penalty. Pro liberty, pro gay marriage. Etc... I try to be consistent.
You know....deep down they all know "choice" is about killing the inconvenient. Which is why the choicers react so angrily at times. Unfortunately sometimes it's too easy to turn a blind eye.

Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseWell....whatever her initial motivation, for her sake and that of future unborn children, thankfully she made the move.
"Choice" is a sadly interesting word. Not even it's supporters can bring themselves to describe what abortion really is.
Anyhow, good on Abby Johnson. She had the courage to do the right thing.

Yep, Abby Johnson is the questionable party here.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseDoes it really matter where truth comes from?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseTold to increase the number of abortions at her facility?
Horrific. That ought to be shouted from the rooftops.

If "Jane Roe" changing
sides didn't swing the debate,
I don't know what will.

No silver bullet, but we can file this one under "every little bit helps".
I'm sure Johnson is not taking much heat from the Left...they being principled fans of whistle-blowers of all kinds, right?
