Kloppenburg: ‘It’s Not Over Yet’

by Robert Costa

Madison, Wis. – An hour past midnight, state supreme-court candidate JoAnne Kloppenburg, an environmental lawyer, made a low-key, two-minute speech to supporters in a hotel ballroom downtown. “It’s not over yet,” she said. “We’re still hopeful.”

Kloppenburg hopes to pick up some votes in remaining precincts. “We just heard from the AP that they’ve said the race is too close to call,” she explained. “There are pockets of votes still to be counted around the state.”
