Carney vs. Ryan

by Ramesh Ponnuru

A more promising line of attack comes from WH spokesman Jay Carney, who complains that the plan, among other things, “plac[es] a greater burden on seniors who depend on Medicare.” John McCormack says Carney is trying to imply what isn’t true: that the Ryan plan affects current Medicare beneficiaries. Or maybe Obama’s position is that it’s wrong to place higher burdens on anyone who will one day receive Medicare, i.e., on anyone. Which would explain that graph Yuval posted yesterday.
