I see that another state legislature has voted to curtail public-employee unions’ collective-bargaining rights to help salvage state and local government budgets. Union leaders promise to flood the capitol building, Madison-like, to protest, and union leaders declare, “We are going to fight this thing to the bitter end.”
. . . union leaders said that even with the last-minute concessions, the bill was an assault on workers’ rights, unthinkable in a state that has long been a bastion of union support.
Ho-hum, just another GOP/Koch Brothers plot coming down in the red state of . . . what? Where? Massachusetts?!
I’ll believe the world really is coming to an end when I see California’s Democrats emulating Massachusetts.
Will the unions have run out of our tax dollars by the time of the 2012 national elections?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseBut did the Massachusetts law prohibit the automatic deduction of union dues? I suspect not. And that made all the difference to the union bosses.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseBK: Probably not. But the supply of OPM should be seriiously depleted by then.

Not bloody likely. The CA Dems would rather the entire ship sink then agree to any "shared sacrifice."
