Thousands of people have died in the last year in the narco-war just across the border, some of it spilling into this country. Border governors have declared the porous southern border their gravest concern. Millions of illegal immigrants have strained public services to the breaking point. There are concerns that terrorists may infiltrate across the border.
So, to address this serious problem, President Obama has announced that he will hold a summit to discuss “the importance of fixing the broken immigration system.” The Hill reports that the following are the experts invited to the summit: actresses Eva Longoria, Rosario Dawson and America Ferrera, Univision host Maria Elena Salinas, Telemundo anchor Vanessa Hauc, and Spanish-language radio host Eddie Sotelo. White House advisers Valerie Jarrett and David Plouffe will also attend.
Serious is as serious does.
