Here’s the latest e-mail from the DCCC. I leave the country for a week and I come back to find out that the GOP passed something about auditing rape victims or something. It must be true because Robby Mook says so:
How’s this for a grassroots rapid response? Barely a day after Republicans passed their reprehensible anti-choice bill that could force sexual assault victims to recount their attack to an IRS auditor — you responded by raising a goal-shattering $212,231 to hold them accountable.
I can’t thank you enough for your powerful rapid response to this latest act of Republican extremism.
But our work is not done.
Republicans are still backing an outrageous plan to end Medicare while preserving tax breaks for millionaires, billionaires, and Big Oil companies making record profits. I even received an e-mail from the Republican National Committee asking me to show my support for deep cuts to the health care benefits that seniors have earned. Not a chance.
Today, we’re launching the DontEndMedicare.com action center so grassroots Democrats have the tools to fight back.
• Help us surpass our goal of 250,000 signatures to our Protect Medicare Petition Drive by adding your name and encouraging your friends on Facebook and Twitter to sign.
• Print out a “Vote Republican, End Medicare” sign to alert your friends and neighbors about the Republicans’ dangerous agenda.
• Update your profile picture on Facebook, Twitter, and your other social networks to “Vote Republican, End Medicare.”
• Send a letter to your Member of Congress or a letter to the editor of your local newspaper denouncing the Republican plan end Medicare.
Republicans may have the shadow groups, the corporate special interests, and the Big Oil billionaires. But as our latest Rapid Response proves, we have something even more powerful than all of them put together — we have you!
Thanks again for responding quickly and powerfully to the House Republicans’ extremist agenda.
