Rick, lay off the Les Mis. It's only Wednesday.

Rick Tyler: the man who could do what no other could, effectively slam the coffin shut on Gringrich's campaign.

Tyler has a point. The past few days has been NRO at its worst. At one point there were 9 anti-Gingrich links on the front page alone. And now this childish video. Come on, folks. Obama doesn't get treated this poorly here.

My father would say, "Tyler does have a point....but if he combs his hair right, no one will notice."

Which is to say, this type of dramatic rhetoric is perfectly worthy of the scorn it's received. And if you don't want Newt to get skewered, perhaps you could convince him to stop providing campaign fodder to every single House Democrat and Democratic candidate in the country.

@Baines Did you see what Chucky Schuemer was saying today?

Newt has given the Dems a great big lead pipe and rendered medical advice on how best to bludgeon us with it!

The man could drop out TODAY and we will still see him throughout the campaign of 2012 thanks to his mouth and a recording of Meet the Press!

Instead of hearing wither on the vine over and over, it's going to be the death nail soundbite he provided with his campaign only a few hours old!

The Iowan was right. He's done enough damage. How many more bad soundbites will he generate the longer he stays in?

@ Baines: I don't expect a parakeet to sing opera, and Obama is a Democratic president. Thus, all I expect of Obama is that he be minimally competent and generally honest, and he flunks even those two modest expectations.

I hold Gingrich to a higher standard. And it's becoming quite clear that large majorities of the GOP from all walks of life -- certainly including prominent GOP thinkers, writers, and pundits -- believe that Gingrich has just proved himself an unreliable standard bearer for the GOP. That's my conclusion, anyway, and I'm just some blogger from Texas who's not even on anyone's conference calls.
