This top line from righty pollsters Resurgent Republic puts the Democrats’ position on the debt-ceiling vote in perspective:
“6 in 10 House Democrats support a debt-ceiling plan opposed by 9 in 10 voters.”
This week the House of Representatives will consider President Obama’s request to raise the federal debt limit without any preconditions related to limiting spending. This policy, the so-called “clean” debt ceiling hike, is opposed by 9 in 10 voters, according to a Resurgent Republic survey conducted jointly with the American Action Forum.
Perhaps numbers like this explain why minority whip Steny Hoyer, leader of the House Democratic moderates, is whipping against the ‘clean’ debt-ceiling vote he once supported.
MyKu:
Only 9 in 10?
What a case for literal
mass decimation.

I give more credit to the "5th Dentist" than to any dunces who still believe there should be zero restraints on spending. Whoever they are, you know darned well they are not kicking in to the fund.
At least that "5th Dentist" can reasonably say, "I ain't supporting a gum whose name directly translates to 'Three Teeth'".

Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseNo problem, the Dems have Mediscare!
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseNo worry about those statistics. The truth notwithstanding, the MSM will continue to insist that Democrats are on the right side of this issue - as they are on every issue - and that most Americans side with Democrats.
