It’s been three months since the U.S. Government Accountability Office issued its report stating that the federal government wastes tens of billions of dollars due to duplication of programs and other inefficiencies. Cumulatively, the waste is estimated to be approximately $200 billion per year. Much of the waste can be eliminated by your administration without the need for congressional action.
What steps has your administration taken to reduce the waste identified in the GAO’s report? What is the dollar value of the waste you expect to eliminate in the next fiscal year and how was that value calculated? What programs have you targeted for elimination and why were they selected?
