To Peter Kirsanow’s Questions for the President I’d add a rather obvious (it seems to me) further question.

“Why, with unemployment stuck at close to ten percent, are we bringing in well over a million foreigners a year for settlement, around 80 percent of them of working age? Why do you not send to Congress a request for a moratorium on further immigration until the unemployment rate drops below five percent”?

All right, that’s two questions. But why do reporters never ask them?
