Politico got Rep. Allyson Schwartz (D., Pa.), a Weiner colleague and top official at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) to go on record calling for Weiner to resign.
“Having the respect of your constituents is fundamental for a member of Congress. In light of Anthony Weiner’s offensive behavior online, he should resign,” Schwartz said.
That’s more direct even than Rep. Michael Michaud (D., Maine) who told a local TV station that it would be best for Weiner to walk away, or Sen. Mark Pryor (D., Ark.) who told a Little Rock radio station that while it was ultimately “up to [Weiner], and his constituents and his family” he felt that “at this point it would probably be a good thing if he would go ahead and resign.”
Has the worm turned on Weiner?
