Fort Hood Shooter to be Court-Martialed, Could Receive Death Sentence


Despite the best efforts of his defense attorney:

Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan will stand trial by court-martial and face a possible death penalty if convicted in the Nov. 5, 2009, shooting at Fort Hood, Texas, that killed 13 and wounded 30, the Army announced Wednesday.

The decision was made by Lt. Gen. Donald M. Campbell, commander of the Army’s III Corps and Fort Hood.
