Michele Bachmann is the GOP candidate with the most support, according to a new poll by Democratic firm Public Policy Polling.
With the caveat that Sarah Palin isn’t in the race, Bachmann leads with 21 percent support among Republican primary voters. She just barely edges out Mitt Romney, who commanded 20 percent support.
Among the remainder of the field, Rick Perry had 12 percent support, Herman Cain 11 percent, Ron Paul 9 percent, Newt Gingrich 7 percent, Tim Pawlenty 5 percent, and Jon Huntsman 3 percent. Twelve percent were undecided.
If Sarah Palin was running, the results are: Romney at 20 percent, Bachmann 16 percent, Palin 12 percent, Perry 11 percent, Cain 10 percent, Paul 9 percent, Gingrich 6 percent, Pawlenty 5 percent, and Huntsman 2 percent. Ten percent remained undecided.
