From my most recent NRO article, on a couple of stars in the conservative firmament: “There is nothing like Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham in other countries, nor much like them in this one. The packaging is leggy women with bright teeth and eyes and lots of blond hair, and they are charming, though not demure. The message is God, Christ, learning, and country. They are outstanding bearers of that timeless message that has reprehensibly few public champions, certainly not including the incumbent president.”
Whether you agree or disagree, your comments are, as always, most welcome.
They both bring a lot to the table.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI'll say what I've said about Palin in the past.
When you weigh the amount of venom spewed at conservative women, the outrageous personal attacks, the subtle sliming, etc., it is remarkable how they fire right back without crying "victim" or changing message.
There is strength in those women that I wish would be instilled in all members of the GOP in elected office.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseAnn Coulter knows the secret: hit 'em, keep hitting 'em, and hit 'em hard.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI'd pay money for that show!
Why is it that NOW, NARAL, PP never step up to defend these women? They both fit their profile. Single, working women, speak their mind. Oh yeah, they don't like to have abortions, the only litmus test these organizations score a woman on.
I enjoy listening to these two much more than several of our talking heads on the right. Girls rule, us boys drool!
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseIt's hard to know where to start. Praising one of the most vicious demagogues in modern punditry - someone whose sole interest is poisoning the well of discourse makes me wonder what you regard as a healthy polity.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseIf you consider one of these women a "vicious demogogue," what must you think of President Obama and liberal members of Congress who call those they disagree with terrorists, hostage-takers, war criminals, bigots, racists and haters?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseObviously Truck considers them perfectly fine. Still you (and I) will speak up to defend them, so thats ok. I think that a show with the two of them would be better than "the Five".
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI love that idea. "The Two" instead of "The Five."
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseNot sure who you mean.
Are you confusing these women with one from the left, Debbie Wasserman Schultz? She is blonde and smiley but I think that ends the comparison.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseYour inability to handle the truth really should be covered under the ADA.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseA liberal complaining about viscious demagogery. Now that's funny.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseIngraham might make some good points, but I'll never forget how she wimped out when someone asked her if Obama was promoting socialist policies. And the shrillness of her radio show won't win many new allies.
I'll take Ann Coulter anyday over most of today's "conservative" pundits. Most of the latter need a major dose of courage. Coulter's already got it along with a helpful sense of biting humor.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseRepublicans in Congress should heed the lesson these courageous, conservative women teach. Standing up and speaking out, not sitting down and shutting up - or going along to get along as some prefer to call it - can have positive and lucrative results.

If that sort of thing is your taste, go right ahead.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseAd hominem, the refuge of those without an argument.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI've seen Coulter at three separate lectures at my university. She is by far the most engaging public speaker I've had the pleasure of meeting and is always willing to talk with her fans and autograph her books.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI think that when Ann Coulter makes solid contact with the ball, she hits it out of the park every single time. But to continue the baseball analogy, I think she's also a real free swinger who misses a lot and hits a lot of foul balls. I find her columns difficult to read because she rarely sticks to one point, instead digressing to include asides and jokes that only connect to the main topic in sometimes obscure ways. I love her politics, and I love the fact that she's so relentlessly politically incorrect, but I wish she could focus a bit better. When she does, she's unbeatable. When she rambles (usually by trying to be funny), which is often, she's boring.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseYou can always count on Coulter to have the farthest right acceptable position on any issue. Conservative politicians should be very careful in disagreeing with her.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseSo true. She was on O’Reilly last night and O’Reilly was doing that annoying thing where he tries to force the guest to admit believing what he believes - the bullying, talking over the guest thing - and Coulter was having none of it. She ate him up, then did it again a minute later when he relapsed. O’Reilly is no poker player and was clearly miffed. The key point is that Coulter was right, O'Reilly dead wrong. The woman stands her ground.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI like both ladies, and their work. But let's go to Shallowville for a moment, okay? My problem with Ingraham is the same as my problem with Gov. Palin and Rep. Bachman. They are shrill, and it grates on my nerves. Maybe it's a prejudice from an alto, but at least Coulter has a well-modulated, sonorous tone. I don't like feeling this way, but there it is. Anyone else?
FWIW, there are many shrill men, too, and I have never understood the praise of the oration of the current occupant of the Oval Office. His voice and delivery are flat and monotone.
