Bob Turner Could Go to Congress

It’s possible, according to a Siena poll last week, that the next occupant of the seat Anthony Weiner had to resign from (it has been a long summer, but I suspect we all remember that one) could caucus with John Boehner.

David Weprin, the Democrat running, has only a six-point lead over Republican Bob Turner, who ran against Weiner last year but had little funding and institutional support at the time.

Former New York City mayor Ed Koch has endorsed Turner. As has Rudy Giuliani.

The special election for the seat in New York’s 9th congressional district is September 13.
