Sources with knowledge of Sarah Palin’s prepared remarks tell National Review Online that the former Alaska governor will castigate Washington’s “compromised political class” when she addresses a tea-party rally in Iowa this weekend. Palin, sources say, will not use the venue to launch a presidential campaign. Instead, Palin will “offer a serious critique of crony capitalism and President Obama’s economic record.”
Palin will remind attendees that three years ago — on Sept. 3, 2008 — she detailed her political philosophy during her speech at the Republican National Convention. She will urge the crowd to fight, as she said then, for “sudden and relentless reform.” Reiterating this message, sources say, is one of her central themes. “She will talk about her experience in Alaska, about how she brought reform to the system,” says one source. “She will remind tea-party conservatives that true reform is difficult.”
“She will also talk, more broadly, about how she is not enamored of the political class, both Republicans and Democrats, who do not deserve to be elected if they only continue the status quo,” the source continues. “She will discuss corporate lobbyists, White House operatives, and others who enable the vested interests.” Many of the themes from her recent Facebook post, “Conquering the Storm,” will be mentioned.
Days before President Obama unveils his jobs plan, Palin, another source says, will “take on the president for doing nothing, for sustaining a culture that spends too much, leaves the debt crisis unaddressed, and rewards the friends of insiders. She will underscore how Obama, who acts like he’s fighting for everyone, is just another creature of Washington — part of what caused too-big-to-fail banks, the spiraling debt. Her thesis is that these folks are the cause of America’s decline — not the tea party.”
will castigate “compromised political class” and defend the nobility of tv hostesses and spokesmodels such as Vanna White, herself, and Sharon Osbourne.

Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseShe didn't want to run Alaska, why would you think she'd want to run for President? She's becoming our Al Sharpton, a fool for publicity. To paraphrase Marion Berry on Jesse Jackson, she don't want to run nuthin' but her mouth. Cordially, Bill
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseMaybe once in a lifetime will a person experience what we are! When has there ever been such a spontaneous and enthusiastic response by the everyday hard-working people of America to one person. She is not an elitist. She is not arrogant, proud, condescending, typical politician which are a dime a dozen. She is one of us! We are in the midst of a historical event. A political revival! The hard-working everyday people are waking up. We're watching our beloved nation crumble at our feet because of self-centered, self seeking, self loving politicians. Turn your plows into swords, (spiritually speaking) grab your helmet and your shield. Let us rise up and go forth. I hear the sound of a mighty army marching as to war. Sarah Palin will not have to do the typical down and dirty political ploys! This is Destiny! We are at a cross road! America must decide! Choose you today the good or the evil? Righteousness or wickedness? Freedom as our forefathers experienced it, or slavery as socialism and communism would have it. Self-governance or government control? What will it be? Let us rise up in the name of freedom and go forth! Sarah Palin is not the answer, she is simply the instrument that God is using to give us a choice. Choose Well, it may be our last choice!
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseSounds like a kick-off of a campaign. A "we can do better" campaign of her 2006 Gov race.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseIf Romney, Perry, Bachmann, or any of the others could articulate the problem like this, and back it up with an actual record that shows their actions match the words, they might make some headway in the campaign. But they can't. Which is why I'm with Sarah, and why I can't wait for her to announce!
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseIf she's not launching a presidential campaign, what's the point? I really don't care what she has to say. Not asking her not to speak, but it might as well be some guy with a Muppet up there talking about DC's compromised political class.
We all know what the problems are. Fix them or shut up.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseColonel.... didn't want you, didn't invite you.... great to hear you are not going. Keep listening to the liberal bull poop... your ears will stay plugged with it.
Reply to this commentLinkReport Abuseand you are doing what sir to help us all with the problems? It's been many years since the people were observant of our government, and it will take many meetings, speeches, trainings, money, etc..., before we can hope to take back control of our government. Your statement is not helping, but I think you are aware of that.

You're just saying that because you HATE Sarah Palin and are JEALOUS of her good looks and her God-fearin', patriotic, real American-lovin', hard-workin', straight-talkin' character-ness just like the rest of the liberal lamestream media that's in bed with the terrorist-hanger-outer President O-ba-ma!(*)
Oh. I shouldn't comment on these posts when my blood sugar is low. Sorry. No, I don't really care what she has to say either. At least not anymore.

You seem to be the only person who sounds like you do...120+ postings and you're the only one to take that tack.
What do you think that says about you?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI respectfully disagree. Blaming the Tea Party for the mess in Washington is like blaming the firemen for the fire; and yet the Tea Party 'brand' has been unfairly damaged by constant, more-or-less-unanswered media criticism.
I am delighted Palin is giving a thought-provoking speech on reform issues, and I wish more Republican leaders would defend Tea Party activists and other reformers, for these grass-roots limited-government crusaders were there in 2010, when the GOP needed them.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseHow am I blaming the tea party for anything? The tea party folks saved this country. I wish the (R) leadership were full of them instead of the stiffs in there now.
What will this Palin speech do? Is she to become leader of some sort of official Tea Party? Is she running for president? Endorsing a candidate? Is it going to break new ground? I'm seeing more No than Yes to all those questions.
Why pay attention to this? So we can be reminded of what we need to do in 2012? (R)s won big in 2009, 2010 and 2011, the entire country knows Obama is a flop - if you don't understand what we need to do at this point you're an idiot.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseColonel,
Respectfully, I don't think RR was saying you were blaming the Tea Party. He was saying the speech by Palin is a refreshing defense of the Tea Party movement as a response to the bashing that these responsible Americans are made to endure endlessly.
And, to you last paragraph, yes, I think 80 percent of human beings must be reminded incessantly of what we need to do. Most people do not follow politics as closely as you do, but still vote. Their votes are largely decided based on what they get from the MSM. Somebody with a megaphone MUST remind them that there is another voice to be heard. Palin has that megaphone today. Maybe tomorrow it will belong to another, but today, it is hers.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseOnly people who are actively campaigning for president should give speeches?
Weird standard there.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI would say that year in and year out, the vast majority of people who give speeches aren't running for any office. Should they all be banned from giving speeches, or just Palin.
If it's the coverage of Palin that you object to, it's not Palin you should be complaining about, but people like yourself who react so strongly everytime her name is brought up. That is why she gets so much coverage.
Heh ... my captcha was "no brainer". =)
I'm not so sure a majority of the country knows what to do to fix the problem. Sarah is following the one lesson that she learned from the 2008 election - "control the narrative".
That the McCain campaign staff failed so badly at this is a "no brainer". Was it through incompetence or bitterness at the conservatives because Sarah obviously revived John's dying campaign? Well, in the absence of clear evidence, I'll go with "incompetence". ;-)
Given the media's penchant for rewriting the story to fit their facts, I would say that Sarah should probably give one speech a month until the 2012 elections are over. Or until the Republican Presidential nominee picks up the theme.
If Republicans convince themselves that the "decent" thing to do is allow the media or the Democrats to control the narrative (and I realize that I'm being redundant), count on Obama winning by a hefty margin again.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseCastigate? So now the Hater In Chief is gonna cut off the President's balls? I'll bet she would love to. She can't get over not getting to give McCain's concession speech and not getting to live in the white house with a bigger tanning bed room and leading the nation by replacing the constitution with her bible that she doesn't live by.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseRE: "bigger tanning bed"
That is, simply, phenomenal!
How many pages of Palin's emails did you pore through? You're settling on Tanning Bed-Gate? One would think you'd avoid such a reference because all it does is display just how much you didn't find...how absolutely (are you ready for this? -->) petty the initial email exercise was and, further, how incredibly (oops, again -->) petty you must be to have "found" a GOTCHA! within.
Truly priceless. I am getting smile cramps here.
