Cheney: Hillary Would Have Been ‘Easier to Work With’

by Daniel Foster

In an interview with Fox News Sunday this morning former vice president Dick Cheney speculated that the last three years might have gone smoother under a President Clinton — Hillary Clinton, that is.

“She might have been easier for some of us who are critics of the president to work with,” Cheney said. “I have a sense that she’s one of the more competent members of the current administration, and it would be interesting to speculate about how she might perform were she to be president.”

The former veep wouldn’t go so far as to endorse a Clinton primary challenge, saying that his imprimatur might be “the kiss of death.” But he did say he wouldn’t discourage it: “I think it would be good for the two-party system.”
