Romney Camp: Perry ‘GOVERNOR SUB-ZERO’

Rick Perry released a web video this morning that called President Obama “President Zero,” a reference to the zero jobs created in August. Now the Romney campaign has blasted out an e-mail dubbing Perry “Governor Sub-Zero.”

“In his campaign’s latest video, Governor Perry criticizes President Obama for an economy that added zero jobs in August, yet Texas added even fewer and has over a million people unemployed,” said Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul in a statement. “This election is about choices – and voters will have the opportunity to choose between Mitt Romney, a conservative businessman, or Rick Perry, a career politician whose own state’s unemployment rate has doubled on his watch and is the worst in the region.”

At the time the Texas job numbers were initially released — which showed Texas losing 1,300 jobs in August — Perry communications director Ray Sullivan said in a statement, “Texas is not immune to the effects of the national recession. Yet Texas continues to outperform the rest of the country and is still home to roughly 40% of the net new jobs created nationwide since June 2009.”

Every statement from the Romney campaign makes me dislike Romney even more. This man will not have my vote if he wins the nomination.

Hey, Andrea Saul, how many jobs is Romney creating right now as governor of Massachusetts? Oh, wait...

And I say the same thing about Perry. There is no way on earth I'll vote for this empty hat with the buffoonish faux swagger.

Well then I guess the GOP will just have to lose California. Oh well.

Now go tell your illegal alien manservant to make you a mojito---it's almost time to listen to "All Things Considered".

I'll listen to Mark Levin and Roger Hedgecock, thank you.

And BTW, has Perry every had a meaningful job in the private sector -- or has he just always sat in plush government offices dreaming up ways to give more benefits to illegal aliens so his crony pals can benefit?

Romney is a conservative businessman? He has been a businessman, but he has never been a conservative. If he wins the nomination, it will be four more years of the Obamanation.

Oh my gawd, the schoolyard immaturity coming from the Romney camp is disturbing. Is Romney running to be Obama's vice president?

Exactly. Perry attacks Obama, and then Romney acts as Obama's foil. Why should Obama even waste his time when one GOPer is taking out the other one?

I am no Romney fan but why would he attack Obama at this point? He's losing to Perry. If Romney, heaven help us, gets in front of Perry then Perry will attack Romney. The front runner tries to stay away from the fray and everyone else tries to pull him down. Welcome to American Politics 101.

I can almost buy your argument about not going after Obama. But why would you attack a fellow GOP candidate with Democrat talking points? How exactly does that strengthen a candidate's position?

Ok Romney supporters. Why should we vote for him now? He is doing Obama's work for him.

Nice one!

Romney has lost the cool that comes with being the front-runner. Now his communications are pathetic. Before, if Romney was running, I was going to sit out the election. If he keeps this up, I will vote for Obama!

Romney, instead of setting forth some principles and explaining how the policies that evolve from them would improve government, continues to feebly pick at Perry.

I'm no huge fan of Perry but Romney's "efforts" to bring Perry down reek of desperation.

Hey Mitt, try just leading instead of playing political games.

I'm starting to remember why I grew to dislike Romney so much in 2008. This is such a stupid and petty attack. The last thing any Republican should be doing is tearing down the record of job creation in Texas - whoever is nominated is going to need to hold up TX as the example of conservative policies at work. Grow up, Romney!

Does anyone else feel like Romney is the yapping Chihuahua of the race all of the sudden?

Yes, exactly like a Chihuahua and about as presidential as a Chihuahua.

Hey now...

I have a very cute and loyal Professional Grief Chihuahua who is insulted at being compared to Romney.

Cute and loyal, and professional. That's three things he has going for him that Romney doesn't.

You just know National Review is going to endorse Romney, as well. That comment alone from him is a crime against conservatism - giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

Anybody but Mitt.

Someone on Mitt Romney's team better get a grip because their guy's tactics are leaning more to the left than most conservative Republicans will be comfortable with. Governor Sub-Zero? How dumb!

In the meantime, Romney has guaranteed that Perry gets the coveted Mortal Kombat voting demographic.
