From NBC News:
Ann Romney had some blunt words for those who don’t vote for her husband Mitt this time around.
“If they don’t pick Mitt that’s their stupid mistake, not mine,” she jokingly told a crowd at the city hall here, to laughter.
Ann Rommey made the remarks campaigning in South Carolina.
Wow, that legendary Romney charm must run through the entire family. Cant wait to be stupid and not to vote for him.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI guess the 75% of Republicans who don't want to vote for Romney must be stupid. Good luck with that.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseShe's right. Conservatives are going all gaga over two RINOs like Perry and Christie while constantly bashing Romney for being a RINO even though Romney is to the right of both of them on several key issues. The hypocrisy is deafening.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseRomney is a conservative like NR is a conservative publication. Kinda sorta, but not really.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseEmphasis on the "not really" part.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseBetween Ann Romney calling voters "stupid", and Perry calling them "Heartless", Cain will be in first place pretty soon.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseIt's a joke, dummy. Here we go again, Bill
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseThere's a world of difference between referring to something as a "stupid mistake" (and clearly as a joke) and calling someone stupid. This is trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseIt's obviously a joke, and one I'd be proud for my wife to tell on my behalf if I were running for dogcatcher or what have you.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseSo, what you are saying is that Mrs. Romney is channeling Michelle Obama ("Only a stupid $%#@& *^$@*! wingnut racist teabagging homophobe terrorist would fail to vote for my husband."). What a swell idea!
Something tells me that won't exactly wow 'em come next November.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseYes, that's exactly what I said. How clever of you to decipher it! You really are one smart cookie.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseSince smart people make fewer stupid mistakes (by the very nature of being stupid causes you to make more stupid mistakes) I guess we are to think that Mrs. Romney figures only smart people will vote for her husband?
Nothing like Northeastern elistism on display in front of a bunch of Southerners.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseIt's a joke , dummy. Cordially, Bill
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseWhatever you say, numbskull. Glad folks shouldn't take Mrs. Romney's comments seriously, moron. Have a Coke and a smile on me, pinhead.
Affectionately, Mwalimu.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseSo many people without a sense of humor, how do you make it thru the day, Einstein? Cordially, Bill
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseWait, what? Who said a candidate or a candidate's wife gets to have a sense of humor?
All seriousness aside, that's the best thing I've heard out of the Romney camp in weeks...
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI'm as unimpressed by Romney as the next guy but this is nothing, come on.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseWho cares what his wife said? To quote the immortal Derrick Coleman, whoop-dee-d***-doo.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseC'mon Katrina, I mean really.
What's your next post: Hermain Cain sneezed.

Dec. 4, 2007
"Standing on stage at a Republican debate on the Gulf Coast of Florida last week, Mitt Romney repeatedly lashed out at rival Rudy Giuliani for providing sanctuary to illegal immigrants in New York City.
Yet, the next morning, Thursday, at least two illegal immigrants stepped out of a hulking maroon pickup truck in the driveway of Romney's Belmont house, then proceeded to spend several hours raking leaves, clearing debris from Romney's tennis court, and loading the refuge back on to the truck.
In fact, their work was part of a regular pattern. Despite a Globe story in Dec. 2006 that highlighted Romney's use of illegal immigrants to tend his lawn, Romney continued to employ the same landscaping company -- until today."
So even after having been told by the Globe a year earlier that the landscaping company Romney was using was hiring illegals, Romney's response to the Globe in Dec. 2007 was that he had given the company a "second chance."
"After this same issue arose last year, I gave the company a second chance with very specific instructions" Romney was quoted as saying by the Globe.
Do we see a pattern here of Romney going after opponents on illegal immigration while he, himself, didn't mind hiring illegals or giving a company he was fully aware used illegal workers a "second chance?"
There should have been no second chance. It is against the law to hire illegals. Mitt Romney, as a former governor of Massachussets, had a responsibility to turn the landscaping company into the federal authorities.
Can you say "hypocrite?"
