No Regrets

The Republican National Committee goes after President Obama’s remarks that he does not regret the federal government’s $535 million loan guarantee to bankrupt solar company Solyndra, in a new ad:

The ad is careful not to allege outright corruption, but rather takes the angle that making such a large bet on a risky investment despite repeated warnings was a “felony dumb” decision.

Obama either knew the trouble Solyndra was in and gave the go ahead anyway - in which case he willfully violated his fiduciary duty to protect taxpayer money, or he was ignorant - in which case he violated his fiduciary duty to be aware of what he was funding with taxpayer money.

Either way, he is criminally liable.

From President Obama, "It went through the review process". So, he has no regrets and "hindsight is 20-20". How, Mr President, did you change/improve the review process so that the billions you dispensed in late September aren't also lost? Reality is that you didn't change the review process because it was more important to spend the money. If a business needs a government grant/loan guarantee to stay in business then they shouldn't be in business!

If internal memo's show that Solyndra wasn't "ready for primetime", do you believe your administration might have leaned on the reviewers to speed up the process so that you and the Vice President could have a photo-op?

Bottom line is payback was important to Obama and his donors. Who received money in late Sep and how much did they give the Democrats?

The real scandal here is the cronyism that put those hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars in Solyndra's coffers. This cronyism and corruption is what is leading to the demise of our country.

Consider also what just happened in a federal court in Texas. A Dallas business owner was involved in a civil dispute and paid millions of dollars to lawyers, and when he objected to their fees, they had a “friendly” judge seize all of his property, without any notice or hearing, and essentially ordered him to be an involuntary servant to the lawyers. The business owner has been under this "servant" order for 10 months and is prohibited from owning any possessions, prohibited from working, etc...

Funny how Obama's 20/20 hindsight can't see the folly of another stimulus package. Or is the newest call for a half-trillion for rake-ready jobs?

Oh, how I completely agree with you: it's not his money and he has paid back his contributors. Amazing how he couldn't even fake a response. Who doesn't regret losing money in a failed venture.
