‘The Jobs Rule’

I wrote about Steve Jobs today. Starred commenter Omaha notes:

It’s important to remind people that an entrepreneur needn’t be a Jobsian genius in order to benefit society.

Every time someone figures out a slightly better way of doing something, society gets better.

The Jobs model scales from the highest heights of capitalism down to the most humble. That’s the point. We can all be Steve Jobs.

Which is the danger in all the hero worship seen in his death. Jobs was indeed a singular talent. We won’t all build an Apple Computer Corp. But in that realization, we need to take care not to abandon the basic truth that each and every one of us has the capacity to be our own Steve Jobs.
