Christie Posts Highest Approval Rating Yet
New Jersey is happy to be stuck with Chris Christie, according to Quinnipiac University’s latest poll. Although 66 percent of voters believe it is likely Christie would have won the Republican nomination, 84 percent say he made the right decision to decline.
In return, 58 percent of New Jerseysans approve of Christie’s performance, while only 38 percent disapprove — his highest rating yet. (Last month, his approval rating was barely above water at 47–46 percent.)
What changed? Women warmed up to him. They approve of Christie 51–44 percent, a 25-point flip from his negative rating with them, 37–55 percent, in August.
And 74 percent agree with the governor that he lacks the personality to be vice president.
