Could a real revolution in music be just a few years away?

Music obviously works on the brain. By studying precisely how, using the brain-activity imaging techniques that have come up in the past few years, we might be able to tailor music much more accurately than composers and songwriters have done to date by working from their intuitions. This sounds like a baby step in that direction.

It’s going to need some math, of course.
