New Yorkers Support OWS by Wide Margins

by Brian Bolduc

Sixty-seven percent of New York City voters agree with Occupy Wall Street, while only 23 percent disagree, according to a new poll by Quinnipiac University. Seventy-two percent — including 52 percent of Republicans — believe if the protesters obey the law, they can stay as long as they want.

In a testament to their clairvoyance, 72 percent of New Yorkers say they understand the protesters’ views at least fairly well. And in a testament to their political bent, 37 percent blame the economy’s current state on Pres. George W. Bush, 21 percent blame Wall Street, and 18 percent blame Congress. Just eleven percent blame President Obama.
