Brian, at the Senate today, I asked Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R., N.H.) whether or not Mitt Romney should boycott tonight’s Las Vegas debate, due to the Silver State moving its caucuses to January 14. Ayotte told National Review Online that the former Bay State governor needs to “demonstrate very strong support” for the New Hampshire primary, but did not call on him to skip the event.
“The reality is that New Hampshire voters are going to look long and hard at each candidate and their support for the primary,” she said. “So I think that Governor Romney needs to demonstrate very strong support for this primary. I’m waiting to see what he’s going to do.”
