The Vegas crooner, who attended last night’s debate, endorses Romney:
Mr. Las Vegas himself, Wayne Newton, told NBC he came in hoping to support Rick Perry, but the impeccably tanned crooner said he thought the Texas governor’s attacks on Mitt Romney were “mean-spirited” — and that Romney was a “gentleman.”
And now he’ll back Romney.
PJTV’s Alexis Garcia has video from the Venetian. Newton says the GOP field would make a “great showroom act for Las Vegas, if we could get them all together.”
I highly doubt that's true, If you like Perry, and think He was mean, you wouldn't endorse Romney right away he is the polar opposit. You would endorse Cain or Gingrich, who are in the same ballpark as Perry. This tool was a Romney supporter, and is trying to play some write the narrative game. Endorsements arent to be randomly switched, unless your just an idiot who doesnt pay any attention to politics.
What?! That was a GOP debate? I thought I was watching Anderson Cooper stand in for Trump on The Apprentice.
You know, where the contestants are encouraged not to be who they are and use the gifts that brought them into the competition, but are rewarded with praise for combative engagement.
Gingrich was right about the media pulling the strings on this.
Take the way Anderson Cooper framed the last question around Mitt Romeny's poll numbers thereby giving Romney rebuttal time after every answer "because Romney was referenced."
That is media stacking the deck in these debates and I'm sick of seeing it.
I don't really care who Wayne Newton thinks is a gentleman. My guy was goaded into being more combative/aggressive than he conducts himself in real life. Yet he gained lots of post-debate praise from CNN's talking heads for having been so.
They have his best interests at heart in this either. It is a media controlled, unnatural situation being run like a reality TV program. I really hate how these things are going.

You picked up on that too...
I like Anderson Cooper, I just don't like his politics. Cooper offered more evidence last night that the liberal media is hoping and praying for a Romney nomination. He definitely wants to keep Obama in office. Did anyone hear Anderson mention Cain's poll numbers? We heard about Romney's 41%, but we did not hear about Cain leading Obama by 43%. It was a settle way of not showcasing our GOP STAR.
By the way, I listened in on the Hannity, Trump interview last night. Trump's most insightful words were that Obama has created class warfare in this country. He has never seen us, the US, in this sort of mess, ever. This is so true Mr. Trump, none of us have either, which is why we need a Republican nominee who can take Obama out of the White House. Any of the candidates will benefit tremendously with an endorsement from the Donald, even though he seems to be leaning towards... well we know. ;-)
Trump will announce his endorsement sometime in December.
One last comment related to the debate... Romney you need to keep your mitts off of Perry during heated exchanges. At that moment when you leaned over and placed your hand on Perry's shoulder... all of our hearts skipped a beat. Excellent job of restraint Perry and your debating skills are much improved.
Ok, moving on...
Bold-faced hypocrtical is more like it. Under crony capitalist Perry's La Raza pandering immigration policies all of Texas has been transformed an illegal lawn service.
By the way, how many customers buying goods & services from businesses launch investigations targeting the legal status of their workers? Investigations that would, presumably be based on racial profiling. In fact, it's the legal obligation of employers, not customers, to vet the legality of their employees.
For ten years, it is Texas Governor Perry who has rejected the key state laws that would shut down his sanctuary state. Not only has he opposed a border fence & the Arizona Law--he has refused to enact E-Verify to stop illegals from hijacking private & public sector jobs from unemployed U.S. citizens.
Meanwhile, Perry's "Texas Miracle" unemployment rate is at 8.5%, the highest in decades--with almost 50% of newly created jobs since 2007 going to illegals.
I'm so excited for the 2012 election. The candidate nobody wants vs. the candidate nobody likes. Result: More of the same.

Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseOkay, it's easy to make fun of Wayne. But I once saw his show at a company Christmas concert in Cincinnati. He gave a really good performance.

Seems Wayne is a fickle endorser.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseMakes me laugh how the NRO MittBots jump on anything to create a narrative of HelMitt's electability.
Now that Newton's endorsed Bachmann, I look forward to the breathless coverage at NRO of Bachmann rising.
Yeah, I won't hold my breath. It'd only get me a state-ordered DNR under RomneyCare anyway.

Wake up - it's a liberal media sting.

Perry "mean spirited"?

Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseWow, Mitt Romney's mom posting right here in The Corner!
Unfortunately no one told her Mitt was lying about all of this.
If only she'd raised a man instead of a slimy hack...
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseWayne Newton Backs Bachmann TOO!
...because she's beautiful :-D
