As if further proof were needed that the Left lives in an alternative universe, President Obama’s self-congratulatory interview with ABC’s Jake Tapper ladles up a whole heapin’ helpin’ [emphasis mine]:
I guarantee it’s going to be a close election because the economy is not where it wants to be and even though I believe all the choices we’ve made have been the right ones, we’re still going through difficult circumstances. That means people who may be sympathetic to my point of view still kind of feel like, yeah, but it still hasn’t gotten done yet. This is going to be a close election and a very important one for the American people. The thing I hope the most is that everyone is going to be paying close attention to the debate that takes place because it could determine not just what happens over the next four years, but what’ll happen over the next 20 or 30 years.
Don’t-blame-me Barry, at it again. Just like Communism, Obamaism hasn’t failed — it just hasn’t been tried properly yet.
I wonder if anyone else in America thinks all his choices were the right ones.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseYou don't have to wonder! All you have to do is open a paper and look at some polls - like this one:

Reply to this commentLinkReport AbusePolls. That says it all. There is a real world that can be understood by real data, and you and your president have your finger to the wind. That ends up in things like passing policies that don't work just to "win". We saw a lot of that for two years. Pfft!
Here's a fact. Three years ago your president said "Give me three years, and if things are still bad in three years then don't re-elect me."
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseIt's nice of you to just come out and admit that you don't care one bit about actual people or jobs. All you care about is power. That's it. You're a disgusting person.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseSo by this argumentation, the Iraq war was a just and reasonable cause? Because the polls sure supported it when we went.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseThe thing about the liberal alternate universe is that they tend to use things like data, polls, and facts to ground their assumptions. It really is different than using circular logic, anecdote, and argument by subjective, non-fact based assumption.
Allow me if you will to explain how this works. For instance, in addition to polls earlier this week from NBC/WSJ, PPP, and Time that show more people agree with Obama than the GOP on the economy, and that more people would rather have a Dem congress than a GOP one in 2012, we have ones like this ABC/Washington Post poll that show Obama enjoying enormous gains across the board on the question of whether voters trust the president or Republicans in Congress to create jobs.

So you get a weird effect. The conservative knows in his heart of hearts that Obama is just wrong, is a socialist, is destroying the economy. And a liberal believes in his heart of hearts that Obama is largely ineffective on the economy because he's dealing with an obstructionist, conservative congress. The liberal takes this one step farther though, and also considers what the data, polls, and facts of the matter are - and doesn't just rely on a subjective assessment that matches his belief. Hence you get wacky notions like Obama's that are in line with what the body of evidence says, but out of line with what the evolution and greenhouse gas deniers believe.
I know this must seem like a crazy, crazy world to you. But you should try looking at these things called polls sometimes! They might help you understand the bizarre utterances of Obama, and why we're pretty confident that Obama is going to win in 2012. Be careful though, because this won't be the first or the last time that facts have a liberal bias. So deal with facts, data, and polls only in moderation!
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbusePolls? How about results and outcomes? You want data? 9.1% unemployment. The longest running series of 400,000+ new unemployment claims in history. On track to produce more new public debt in 4 years than the previous top debt-producing administration did in 8 years. And you want to believe that polls released by vanity leftists who weight the calculations to produce a leftist result are really data? Get serious. Read some real data and learn something.

-nah, that's okay.

Just a few for ya...could pull a ton more, but need to get back to work!
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseSo you'd rather have a president who can lie well and fool people into supporting him in class warfare than one who actually creates jobs and helps people?
Nevermind, don't answer.

Yet somehow they manage to arrive at the worldview of a five-year old!
(Apologies to advanced five-year olds)
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseIf those polls are accurate, and that's a really big if, the most it tells us is that there are a lot of dupes in the country, all most likely "educated" in gummit "schools". They tell us nothing about Obama other than that, like most Lefties, he loves useful idiots and strives his darndest to create more of them. Heck, in his autobiography he bragged about duping his own grandma.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseObama makes a claim that he did all the right things and Moe thinks polls are facts proving this claim. And now Moe wants us to believe he doesn't live in an alternate universe? Yeah, right.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseThe Isn't opens his regal yap once again.
Mark my words, close to election time you'll see campaign posters of this whatever-he-is wrestling a lion bare-chested.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseLeftists alway say the next time we try any of the socialism variants like Corporatism, Bolshevism, Maoism, KimIlism, PolPotism, or National Socialism, we will do it correctly.
They have tried in 96 countries in 168 years, and has always failed 96 consecutive times.
They say Leftism is "Scientific". What utter drivel. This nonsense has been tried 96 consecutive experiments, in 96 countries, all resulting in misery and concentration camps and nary a single success.
Without shaking the urge to experiment once again, makes me believe these "scientists" don't know a single thing about the empirical scientific method, or when a hypothesis is disproven.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseObamaism? Really??
Lame.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseSure has been so far.
But the man never fails to get big yuks from me!
Reply to this commentLinkReport Abuse"The thing I hope the most is that everyone is going to be paying close attention to the debate that takes place..."
Really? I don't know about you, but I would like to think that the "thing" the President of the United States "hopes the most" would be getting people back to work and getting the economy back on track.
Instead, the Narcissist in Chief wants people to pay attention to the debates so he can get reelected, and ultimately continue his ruinous agenda.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseRemember when one of the left's major complains about George W. Bush was that he was incapable of admitting that he'd made a mistake?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseGood thing to know that Moe would support slavery in the 1800's. After all it was popular.
Moe also supported the Salem Witch Trials.
