Mom of the Year

What a super lady! From the NY Post:

A married mother of four from Florida ditched her family to become part of the raggedy mob in Zuccotti Park — keeping the park clean by day and keeping herself warm at night with the help of a young waiter from Brooklyn.
“I’m not planning on going home,” an unapologetic Stacey Hessler, 38, told The Post yesterday.
“I have no idea what the future holds, but I’m here indefinitely. Forever,” said Hessler, whose home in DeLand sits 911 miles from the tarp she’s been sleeping under.
Hessler — who ironically is married to a banker — arrived 12 days ago and planned to stay for a week, but changed her plans after cozying up to some like-minded radicals, including Rami Shamir, 30, a waiter at a French bistro in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn.
She swears she’s not romantically involved with her new friend.Yesterday was a typical day for the pair, who woke up at 8 a.m. on their little patch of paving stone near the communal kitchen and dashed off to Trinity Church to wash up.
Hessler emerged an hour later, her brown hair in dreadlocks, wearing a T-shirt depicting Han Solo and Princess Leia kissing, and bearing the slogan “Make Love Not War.”
She got coffee and a granola bar from the protest kitchen before sorting laundry for two hours.
The unemployed Long Island native compared her decision to abandon her family to Americans serving in the armed forces.
“Military people leave their families all the time, so why should I feel bad?” a defiant Hessler said. “I’m fighting for a better world.”

...speechless...

------------------------
• 9-9-9 Talking Points I WISH Herman would use:

1. Establishment, career politicians HATE it because they CAN’T HIDE THEIR CORRUPTION in the tax code anymore.

2. 2/3′s are required to raise it a penny. Even in less partisan days, it’s a seismic event to get a 2/3′s to agree cancer is bad and puppies are cute.

3. 2/3′s, by the way, was The Founders’ Original Intent. That ‘Glorious Liberty Document’ as Frederick Douglass called it. Would YOU be a member of the 1/3 voting to RAISE EVERYBODY’S – not just Obama’s fat cats – EVERYBODY’S taxes? Really?

4. Remember the Reagan years? You know who did the math on Reagan’s economic proposals when it was MORNING IN AMERICA? Art Laffer. You know who is on the record supporting 9-9-9? ART LAFFER.

5. If you are another Steve Jobs in your garage with no money but a great idea, are you MORE likely, or LESS likely to succeed NOW, or under 9-9-9?

6. If you have to pick a country on planet earth to do business, and you could pick COMMUNIST CHINA, or The Land of Liberty, even FREER with 9-9-9, which place would you rather try to draw the best & brightest to work for you? Hmmm? You know – CREATE JOBS?????

——————————————————————————————————————————–

HELLLOOOOOOOOOO?????????????????????????????????

THIS AIN’T ROCKET SCIENCE!

OH- Wait – Herman actually, LITERALLY, *w*a*s* a rocket scientist!

"Never trust anybody over 30" unless they've abandoned their kids?

And I'm sure she talked over her decision to join this group with her family, before giving life and death decisions to it. I'm sure representatives asked her and her husband several times if they were certain and knew what may happen. I'm sure she signed away her rights in service of her cause, but hopes this is resolved quickly so that the commander that ordered her here can allow her to go home to be with the people she loves.

Wait, you mean it's not actually like the military at all?

Sounds like the missing chapter from "Double Indemnity".

She's got to be the winner of this year's Susan Smith Award.

In case you don't remember Susan Smith:

"I also remember newt gingrich saying she killed her kids cuz of liberalism."

No, you don't. Because that didn't happen.

"Slightly more moving our way. I think that the mother killing the two children in South Carolina vividly reminds every American how sick the society is getting and how much we need to change things." Gingrich concluded, "The only way you get change is to vote Republican. That's the message for the last three days."

That's what he said. When asked about it, he said this: "We need very deep change if we're going to turn this country around."

My advice: You should make up things you "remember" away from the internet. It's too easy to find out how ignorant you are when I have access to google.

Her husband and three kids could certainly get a better model than her on the open market.

When she's dodging bullets and side stepping IEDs then maybe she can make a comparison. Sleeping on an air mattress with a boy-toy isn't quite the same level of sacrifice.

And in the divorce she'll get half the assets and custody of the kids (if she wants them).

This article will make for terrific evidence against her in the upcoming child custody fight.

"Fighting for a Better World" sounds like a good title for the indie film you could make of this story.

So she must have finally seen" I'm Getting My Act Together and Taking It on the Road"
30 years late. See Wiki link

Yesterday Maggie Gallagher had a post about the Atlantic article for "All the Single Girls". Bill Bennett and Kay Hymowitz have published articles this year about men refusing to "man up" and "grow up" to support a family, the latest in an on-going series for several years.

Here we have exhibit 1 on why men aren't.

And before anyone says, "she's one example" how is she significantly different from the author/heroine of "Eat, Love, Pray" who is celebrated for her courage. She isn't. While women like this may not be common it doesn't take many to really skew the risk/reward ratio.

And @Uncledave: I'll bet paycheck to paycheck she gets custody.

Surely there's a similarly confused moonbat mother somewhere in Zucotti Park that can be found by the ABC Show 'Wife Swap.' What an episode it would be - send each back home to swapped families and America can enjoy the moonbat hijinks in the "better world" they had created for us.

Or, find a moonbat dad with an abandoned mom at home, and hook up the abandonees a la Brady Bunch. Maybe call it The Granola Crunch? Or the Passed-Over Passel?

I have to say that this sounds made up, or at least tweaked for most outrageous effect by the reporter.
